I am sick to death with dieting and watching what I can and cannot eat - and this year is no exception.
Actually - truth be told I have decided to ditch the "Lose a stone in a fortnight" resolution and I am going to go to the gym a little bit more. Actually going to the gym at all would be better than what I am currently doing - so it's not going to be hard to improve.
But for all the calorie conscious out there - here is a small chink of hope.
You know that awful feeling then you want something sweet. The immediate reaction is for you to totally try your hardest NOT to think about it. You open the fridge and reach for the pre-prepared carrot batons which are designed to take your mind of that awful craving ... ( FAIL ).
Well BBC News Online have the answer to all your prayers.
Apparently a study has found that if your actually concentrate on this food craving, and if you do so for long enough, then apparently it has the same effect of reducing the desire to pig out on what's exactly on your mind.
So next time you are reaching for the celery sticks - sit down with a glass of ice cold ( slimming ) water and imagine fist full of chocolates.
Regrettably, I don't have the will-power or the desire to put myself through that sort of mental torture. It's more than likely that I will grab my sweeties and vow that next time I get to the gym that I will do an extra mile on the tread-mill.
Good Luck.
